Donna's Tri-color Pasta Salad

🇺🇸 Donna’s Tri-Color Pasta Salad:


1 pkg. Tri-color Rotini Pasta

1 medium sweet onion, chopped

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

12-16 oz. Italian salad dressing of your choice

Shredded Parmesan cheese, to taste


-Prepare pasta as instructed on package. Drain well and run under cold water to stop the cooking process. In a large bowl, combine pasta and all remaining ingredients. Fold gently to combine. Cover tightly and refrigerate at least two hours, preferably overnight. Serve cold.

Donna's Famous Patriotic Trifle

🇺🇸🍓🫐🍰 Donna’s Red, White, & Blue Patriotic Trifle


1 Family Size Sara Lee Frozen Pound Cake, thawed and cut into 1” cubes

2 pounds fresh strawberries, washed and well dried, then sliced

1/4 cup granulated sugar, optional

2 pounds fresh blueberries

1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix (5.1 oz)

1 2/3 cups milk

1 container of Cool Whip (8 oz.) *I use Extra Creamy


  • In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries and sugar (if desired, for extra sweetness). Set aside. Make the pudding by combining the pudding mix and milk, whisking for approximately two minutes or until thickened. Chill for about 30 minutes.

  • Gently fold the Cool Whip into the chilled pudding until well combined. Set aside.

  • In a large glass bowl (preferably clear), start layering by placing 1/3 of the cake, all but 1/2 to 1 cup of the sliced strawberries (the rest will decorate the top of the trifle), another layer of cake, pudding, then all but 1 cup of the blueberries. Top with a final layer of cake, then pudding. Decorate the top of the trifle with the remaining strawberries and blueberries. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until ready to serve.
